Today’s newsletter is partially paywalled! Paid subscriptions support the time and care that go into creating magic in this little corner of the internet while also giving back to community-focused causes (and give you access to even more vintage and my entire archive!)
✿ ✿ ✿ This month, a portion of paid subscriptions will go to Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), an all-volunteer, grassroots, multiracial, and multinational immigrant rights mass-movement organization. MIRAC fights for legalization for all, an end to immigration raids and deportations, an end to all anti-immigrant laws, and full equality in all areas of life. ✿ ✿ ✿

I went back and forth, debating how I wanted to kick off Trash Panic in this new timeline, pressured by scrolling and endless content consumption (plus two TikTok tarot readers telling me I am destined for fame this year, obviously) that I should come out with a shocking, gigantic big BANG — new year, new me, bitch!

But I’ve found myself overwhelmingly anxious, fuzzy brained and distracted, feeling restless despite the time away, the bleak, bitter air here in Minneapolis thick with tension, heartbreak, and all-consuming hurt, dissolving any lingering leftover holiday high, if there ever even was one to begin with.

So I’ve decided we’re easing into this newborn calendar, recognizing that tip-toeing is still valid movement, that winter is still in full swing — the squirrels, bees, and trees still sleep.

And with that, I give you a Dump, less to encourage an immediate dive into capitalistic consumption and more to inspire you to consider what’s important to you when it comes to the realm of STUFF and THINGS. In the internet viral climate of black and white/in and out resolutions, I encourage you to embrace moving towards, drifting away energy — a commitment to consider the lifespan of things you put on your body, the quality of trinkets that make your house a home. Intention.

Welcome to the “The Dump” — a round-up of curated vintage, secondhand, or handmade things I have bookmarked from around the internet that are looking for a new place to call home.
