Happy Thursday, friends! It’s the most wonderful time of the year — Christmas in July!
In the spirit of Christmas giving, today’s newsletter is free. All I ask is that you consider liking, commenting, and sharing Trash Panic with someone you think might enjoy it!
There are many more finds (50+!) already drafted and ready to grace your inbox this weekend, which paid subscribers will be given priority access to — consider upgrading your subscription so you don’t miss out! Paid subscriptions support the time (many hours!) and care (so much care!) that go into creating magic in this corner of the internet while also giving back to community focused causes.
This month, a portion of paid subscriptions will go to Pal Humanity, a global initiative led by two Palestinian female doctors offering immediate relief and sustainable support to the people of Gaza.
It’s 102 degrees today, you should probably buy a leather jacket
While I won’t link them—mostly because, in retrospect, they make me hardcore cringe (that’s a sign of growth, right?)—this marks my third year writing about the perks of being a shopper who doesn’t limit themselves to browsing strictly within the boundaries of the current season in which they are being marketed.
The shopper in pursuit of a well-rounded, well-worn, forever-loved wardrobe knows a secret: some of the best deals are found when everyone else is shopping for the current 10-day forecast. One of the major perks of shopping out of season is that many sellers are eager to offload heavy, bulky inventory—and often at a steal of a deal! Also, by the time fall and winter roll around, countless others will be frantically searching for the very pieces you will be on the hunt for, which drives up demand, pricing, and can make finding your size in that perfect-little-something, much more difficult.
In the round-robin of viral trends, buying the new hotness, and keeping up with the influencer Joneses, I think shopping with a collector mindset can be a thought-provoking exercise in examining what seasonal newness is speaking to you before you start seeing what walked down the runway six months prior infiltrating your algorithm and whispering *add to cart* to your inner shopping gremlin.
While many of these links may eventually sell out or expire, let them be the spark that sends you down a rabbit hole to discover something that makes your heart pitter pat! Click through related items, filter by your budget or a random price point, search by a color you’ve been curious to wear more of. Replace doomscrolling with treasure hunting—I promise, it’s a lot more rewarding and can lead to better self discovery than comparing yourself to that somebody-somewhere-doing-something that makes you feel bad about yourself.
And with that, I wish you a Merry Christmas (in July!) — let’s get into it.
Most of these finds are things I consider “timeless”, good investments, are neutral but fun, and can be applied to a wardrobe in many different ways, over and over again.
(btw everything in this newsletter is under $350! Khaite! Prada! Jil Sander! Vintage leather and fur!)
If you make a purchase through a link, I might earn a small commission, which I appreciate as it helps fund this space ✨

Wow so many good pieces. I’m also in the buy out of season camp! Btw, your comment on the Toteme stripe turtlenecked made me lol. So so true!
Another gorgeous collection that has me thinking about my fall wardrobe, Glenn! I love the Marant plaid dress, so many of the funky shoes (which remind me of my beloved Fluevogs), and the coat with the fur trim- I have a black velvet version. 💕
