Glenn, you’re the maven of all things cool!😎 Sing it loud! Buy it secondhand! Looking at that shitty Zara slip dress and then seeing 70-year-old vintage slips for less than $10…I don’t think the Zara one will be around in 70 years, or even 70 days.
Gorgeous round-up of want-y things! I encourage everyone to go to a vintage fair (they are everywhere in spring) and see what treasures are out there! 🥰
Thank you for your ability to find such gorgeous pieces!💕🤘
Sheila, my Sheila! Thank you for being such an inspiration for wearing and loving and re-imagining the pieces you have in your wardrobe -- the ultimate sustainable cool girl!
I'm headed to my local spring vintage fair this weekend and I cannot wait! Been saving my pennies for something perfectly weird and old and strange and wonderful✨
A+ photo caption on that first one ("it’s amazing what good product photography can do for mediocre clothes produced under a multitude of human rights violations" -- perfection)
Thank you, Glenn, for this, for telling things as they are. We need to buy more quality secondhand items, and we have to be patient. Love all the items you showed. I love going to estate sales and thrifting and have found amazing vintage things. I won't lie, sometimes I would go and get some fast fashion items, but less.
So many beautiful pieces. Secured the black sequence silk tank. I wanted those blooms pants! I was late to the party and honestly wanted everything here. Patiently waiting for the silk pant release so I can snag a size 4 or six to go with my new sequence top.. I also purchased the cool girl white sequins trousers, You posted in our chat and they are phenomenal. Can’t wait to style them this summer. Love your content and I’m enjoying the thrill of the hunt. I like how you keep us on our toes and you don’t release the dumps at the same time every week, it’s fair, but you got me on high alert on the weekends. lol
My publishing time insider scoop: you can usually count on Dumps being Saturday or Sunday sometime between 10am-2pm CT because I feel that's decently fair for all my readers in different time zones! (My themed posts are a little more sporadic, but I'm working on that!)
A good start for many: thank you. I’ve been thrifting for many years, since not only wasn’t it cool, there was a stigma to it (if only I still had the $15 and $20 pristine vintage fur jacket and coat I acquired then—they looked so good they were stolen during a break-in). In addition to thrifting I’ve done well for basics at Gap, Old Navy, Uniqlo and TJ Maxx, where many levels of dupes and name brands can be had at incomparable prices, especially during sales and clearance periods. I’m kind to my clothes and they tend to hold up. When I tire of them I donate to small institutions that ensure they get into the hands of local families in need, rather than landfills and bulk overseas shipments: sometimes I get to see the transfer and it’s quite gratifying.
